She knows it is because of the society which exclude women from everything such as education, politics and so on. It is because that the meaning of marriage is ‘woman is one of her husband’s possessions.’ Wollstonecraft does not understand why women have only one goal, marriage, in their life. However, women cannot get the their rights even after getting married. Only marriage is the purpose in women’s life. women are most charming when they are freely expressing their believes and their are treated equally. Women can be as great as men are if they are given the same opportunities. In other words, I think Wollstonecraft is strategically saying that women would not be cherished by men and even themselves if they are both financially and emotionally depend on men. In her text, she argues that if a woman only learns how to please the men, then men would be sick and tire and eventually lose their passions on a woman. She likes women being independent from men as well as having their own control of their lives and thoughts.
